You can develop a career in civil engineering by any number of paths. Take the example of two project managers:
- One might have started as an uncertified labourer, then apprenticed as a Driller/Blaster. Already experienced on site, he decides to take construction management courses. After proving his abilities in a series of jobs with greater responsibility, he is offered the project manager position.
- The other might have decided to enter a technical college after high school and study surveying.
