4. Access training4. Access training

Once you have identified the training programs that will meet the worker’s needs, the next step is to make sure that the worker or employer is eligible to participate.

Some funding opportunities are available to support individual workers and employers in accessing training.

Training is “building the foundation.” It is often the starting point and never the ending point. Consider what supports should be offered to the workers, employers and other stakeholders to ensure long-term success.

Once training is complete, make use of the additional services offered by some programs to support the success of workers and employers, such as job coaching, follow-up interviews, job matching and referrals (see here).

Eligibility requirements differ for each individual training program. The following provides an overview of some of the most common criteria.

Eligibility criteria met (check to confirm)

  • For worker(s)
  • For the employer(s)
  • For the ASETS holders/partners

Review these and other examples of funding opportunitiesto see if your initiative might be eligible.
