There are several different groupings of employers and/or workers within the construction sector:
- Construction associations represent construction professionals in Canada’s non-residential construction industry.
- Home builders’ associations represent construction professionals in Canada’s residential construction sector.
- Labour groups represent construction workers who belong to one of Canada’s labour organizations, including the Building Trades and Christian Labour Association of Canada, and others.
- Merit contractors associations represent the open shop construction industry. These organizations of open shop construction contractors have joined forces to provide benefits and training programs to construction employees.
